The Ekurhuleni Jewellery Project (EJP) is a business incubation and enterprise development programme dedicated to supporting the growth and sustainability of South Africa's jewellery manufacturing sector. Located in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, EJP empowers aspiring and established jewellery entrepreneurs through business development, technical skills development, mentorship, and market access opportunities.

Our mission is to develop competitive, sustainable jewellery businesses that contribute to economic growth, job creation, and the advancement of the local manufacturing industry. We provide a structured incubation environment where entrepreneurs can refine their craftsmanship, strengthen their business capabilities, and access industry networks that enable long-term success.

EJP offers a comprehensive range of support services, including business advisory and coaching, jewellery manufacturing facilities, technical training, product development, business compliance assistance, financial management guidance, branding and marketing support, market readiness programmes, and exhibition opportunities. Through strategic partnerships with government, industry stakeholders, and private sector organisations, we connect our incubatees to local and international markets while promoting innovation and excellence in jewellery design and manufacturing.

Our incubation model focuses on building resilient businesses by improving operational efficiency, product quality, customer readiness, and commercial viability. We work closely with small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) to identify growth opportunities, address business challenges, and develop practical strategies that enhance competitiveness.

At EJP, we believe that entrepreneurship is a catalyst for inclusive economic development. By investing in people, skills, and innovation, we are creating a pipeline of successful jewellery manufacturers capable of competing in both domestic and global markets.

Whether supporting a start-up taking its first steps or an established manufacturer preparing to scale, the Ekurhuleni Jewellery Project remains committed to developing jewellery businesses that create employment, build sustainable livelihoods, and showcase South African craftsmanship to the world.
