At a recent Debriefing Meeting of exhibitors and interested parties, important discussions and decisions were taken to better the offering of Jewellex Africa 2017 for both exhibitors and visitors. Please refer to the full Jewellex Report here.
Sandton Convention Centre (SCC) is the venue of choice and will be the new venue for Jewellex Africa 2017. Although Gallagher Convention Centre was a great venue, feedback received was that Midrand was not conducive from an accessibility point of view, as well as the accommodation and restaurant suitability.
SCC is conveniently situated in the vibrant business district of Sandton, offering easy access to over 5000 hotel rooms, 11 000 secure parking bays and is adjacent to the country’s top shopping and entertainment complexes. It is also conveniently located within easy access to the Gautrain and O.R. Tambo International Airport.
The dates agreed upon for 2017 took into consideration religious holidays, international show dates, public holidays and venue availability. The show will start on a Sunday to respect many of our Jewish exhibitors who observe the Sabbath. The show will start later and end earlier on the last day as follows:
Sunday, 8th to Tuesday, 10th October 2017
Sunday, 8th October: 10:00 to 18:00
Monday, 9th October: 10:00 to 18:00
Tuesday, 10th October: 10:00 to 15:00
Jewellex is a fantastic platform for suppliers to build relationships with customers. Only after this is achieved will it become easier to generate business. Why do people exhibit at Jewellex? It’s about networking, marketing, interaction and PR.
Early October is an appropriate time to market brands, services and products just before the festive shopping season.
In 2017, exhibitors will be encouraged to set up appointments for the duration of the show and offer at least 1 show special that will only be available at the show.
The Council will be working closely with the Chevron Jewellers Group to determine retailers needs. It is an aim to create a situation in which retailers feel they cannot afford to miss out on attending the show.
