Visiting from Cape Town, Norman van Rooyen, owner of Jewellery Security Consultants, will speak to us about ‘Security – Expect the Unexpected. Are you ready for the next hit!’

Norman has pursued a career as an industry specific consultant in the jewellery industry. He believes that the industry needs to have a clearer understanding of the threats it is faced with, in order to be successful in the reduction of losses. Norman not only enjoys what he does but also has a passion for the jewellery industry.

Simon Lloyd, Director at Algorithm Agency and Mike O’Brien, Creative Director of O’Brien Designs will chat to us on ‘The Importance of a Website and Social Media in Business’

Simon is obsessed with digital media performance. His specialty is driving efficiency through automation and software and then combining that with human experts to provide the best digital strategy. With 18 years’ experience, he is well placed to advise on both digital creativity and most importantly efficacy.

 

Mike is a creative visionary with the ability to deliver fast, to perfection and has over 15 years’ experience in Graphic Design, Web Design, Brand Development and Photography. Mike’s international experience powers his perspective and ability to deliver a level of service and design that inspires people, enriches products, people and spaces.

Chatting to Anna-Mart Rossouw, Owner of Paramount Consulting on ‘The Art of Storytelling. We don’t sell jewellery’. We sell connection, love and a dream and we just happen to use jewellery to do that. This is about how to connect the piece to the client’s story. 

Anna-Mart has worked in the jewellery industry for the past 13 years. Her passion for training, development, service excellence and her knowledgeability has led to her becoming one of the official training service providers to the Jewellery Council of South Africa.

Annalize van Zyl is an International Agent for Reed Exhibitions in South Africa and she will be speaking to us about ‘Exhibiting at International Shows and DTI Incentives’

Annalize van Zyl Exhibition Project Managers was founded 17 years ago to support local participants at international shows. Her expertise extends to being educated in DTI requirements for funding such international shows for the jewellery industry. She endeavours to make every exhibition experience a successful and profitable event for her clients.

Talking to Dalene Rathnum and Joshna Lutchman Desai from Family Life Centre who are both experienced social workers and counsellors in the field of trauma and family preservation.

Dalene has worked as a counsellor for 14 years focusing on trauma, individual and couple counselling. Dalene is currently the head of The Family Life Centre training department.

The ladies will be addressing Trauma Counselling post armed robberies as well as information on the services they offer. The focus will be on the nature and impact of trauma on the individual’s functioning and the benefits of trauma containment.

Faldilah Volkwyn is from Customised Business Advisory Solutions and she will be chatting to us about ‘Manufacturing Training and Funding from the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA)’.

Faldilah began her journey in the jewellery industry as a Goldsmith. She was involved in the development of the Goldsmith Unit Standard Qualification, where she gained experience in Skills Development and funding assistance from the MQA. Ms Volkwyn’s company, CBAS, specialises in Skills Development, funding assistance and Qualification Design.
